La mission des Sœurs du Bon Pasteur s’adresse tout d’abord aux filles et femmes dont les conditions de vie sont fragiles. Elles sont présentes dans tous les ministères de la Congrégation.
La femme libanaise et arabe, se voit comme un être inférieur, ignorant sa propre dignité, ses droits, son rôle en famille et dans la société. Il a fallu donc mettre d’avantage l’accent sur l’éducation, la prévention, la conscientisation, l’éveil de la femme sur sa propre identité…
Aujourd’hui, et avec le nombre croissant des réfugiés au Liban, sœurs et professionnels laïques, travaillant dans nos différents apostolats, œuvrent à ce que chaque femme prenne connaissance de ses droits et cherche les moyens qui l’aident à se mettre debout.
La journée du 8 mars, journée internationale de la Femme, les écoles publiques étaient en grève au Liban, et les enfants étaient dans les maisons. Alors, comme Sœurs du Bon Pasteur, nous avons remis les célébrations de cette journée au Jeudi 18 avril afin que le plus grand nombre de femmes, mères de familles et femmes au foyer puissent y participer.
L’équipe de Justice et Paix de la Province a pensé au thème de la journée et à son organisation : « Renforcer les femmes dans leurs capacités et les soutenir dans leur vécu quotidien dans une société qui est dure et injuste à leur égard ». Et voilà la raison d’être de cette rencontre:
« Les Droits de la Femme et son rôle au cœur de la Société Libanaise »

Le colloque a eu lieu à l’amphithéâtre de la municipalité de Jdeideh (banlieue de Beyrouth). Le chef de la municipalité et l’équipe qui le seconde étaient très collaborant et accueillants. Ils ont mis tout à disposition pour que ce projet soit réussi : équipement audiovisuel, parking, personnel d’accueil, personnel de sécurité, etc.…
Le jour venu, à notre grande surprise, 150 femmes ont répondu à l’invitation. Un public multicolore par la confession et les nationalités (musulmanes, chrétiennes, Iraquiennes, Syriennes, Libanaises…. La salle du théâtre était pleine.

Trois intervenantes bien connues ont enrichi l’assemblée de leurs expériences, leur savoirs et leurs vécues.
- Mme Simone Moubarak, travaillant avec les évêques au niveau du Patriarcat Maronite dans la Commission de la Famille, a parlé de la dignité de la femme et sa complémentarité avec l’homme pour bâtir une société juste….

- Mlle Roula Massri, 10 ans d’expérience dans une ONG « ABAAD » qui lutte pour les droits de la Femme, s’est étendu en expliquant la progression du concept des Droits de la Femme au long du siècle dernier et comment dans la société libanaise, les femmes sont appelées à prendre leurs places.

- Mme Marlène Haddad, commissaire du district de Metn au Liban, a parlé du rôle de la femme dans la société et au niveau du gouvernement en se basant sur sa propre expérience en tant que femme engagée au niveau politique. Elle a expliqué comment elle est en train d’essayer de vivre son poste comme service et non comme pouvoir.

Elle a excellé par sa clarté, ses convictions et son engagement. Plusieurs fois le public l’a applaudie.
Le chef de la municipalité a dit un mot par la suite parlant de son expérience positive de travail avec Mme Haddad, disant comment une femme peut changer « la face d’un poste dans le gouvernement » de part sa nature de femme.
Plusieurs femmes de l’Assemblée ont posé des questions et ont souhaité que des hommes puissent entendre ces paroles afin d’activer plus efficacement « les Droits de la Femme » dans la société.

Deux chaines de télévision catholiques et deux magazines étaient présents. Ils ont interviewées des sœurs et des laïques.
Quelques témoignages des femmes:
- Ma sœur, s’il vous plait, multipliez ces rencontres, nous en avons grand besoin.
- Il faut que vous fassiez quelque chose pour les hommes pour qu’ils entendent ce que nous avons entendu.
- Il n’y a que vous, mes sœurs, qui pouvez nous réunir dans une même salle, nous qui sommes si différentes par les origines et le niveau social.

Des interviews sur chaine de TV vont suivre pour parler davantage de la Mission de la Congrégation.
Les Sœurs ont porté cette rencontre dans leur prière, et la présence discrète de Sainte Marie Euphrasie et de St Jean Eudes a rendu cette rencontre fructueuse et bénie.

A pastoral visit of Bishop Camille Zidane to the diocese of St. John - Bouchrieh.

The St. John the Baptist Diocese welcomed His Excellency Bishop Camille Zyadeh for two consecutive days – Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th of March, for a pastoral visit launched by His Excellency with a meeting with youth, followed by a celebratory mass attended by the Chief of Municipality, the mayors, the members of the Municipal Council and the Waqf Committee. Following the Mass, His Excellency met with the locals and shared dinner with them through a banquet that was held in his honor by Mr. Antoine Bakhos, to which all the families from the area were invited.

His Excellency the Bishop started the second day of his visit with a mass that he celebrated with the Parish priests, after which he continued his meetings with movements, fraternities and committees that are active in the parish, as well as the Waqf committee. His Excellency finished the visit with a lunch banquet held by the pastoral council in his honor, followed with a tour around the pastoral center with an overview of its effective functioning and organization. He also praised the efforts made ​​by successive – and particularly recent, Waqf committees, as the Church of St. John the Baptist Bouchrieh has now established a new pastoral center, an achievement which was once considered to be a dream, as well as he commended the efforts of the Parish Custodian and his good management.

Participation of the municipality in the conference held by the National Monitor for Transparency

The Jdeideh – Bouchrieh – Sed Municipal Council took part in the conference hosted by the National Monitor for Transparency, sponsored by the Minister of Tourism, Fadi Abboud, with the presence of the Minister of Government Marwan Khayreddin and Member of Parliament Nabil Naqoula. The conference included a discussion about the concept of monopoly and approaches to developing laws – following the example of European and American countries’ sample of developing countries, which reduce its negative consequences. The two-hour conference also tackled other important topics and questions asked by journalists and attendees, ending with a general consensus sentiment on the need to develop the laws related to this topic in order to benefit competition and consumer’s savings.



Signing the municipal charters for children

Under the patronage of the Minister of Social affairs Wael Abu Faour, and coinciding with the International Children’s Day which falls on March 22nd, the three children’s municipal charters signing happened on Saturday the 16th of March 2013 with each of the following municipalities: Jdeidit El Baouchrieh, Ajaltoun and Chiyah, all of whom are partners with the Ministry of Social affairs’ program ‘Mosaic’, that is funded by the Italian State within the Italian cooperation, the total amount of funds being 1.5 million Euros.
This program aims towards contributing in the guidance of good local development policies and strengthening the Lebanese institutions, as well as developing their capacities in supporting the orientation of Children.
The event included a projection of a documentary about the different activities that were executed by the ‘Mosaic’ program along with the song ‘Khalas’ and a video that tackles the subject about The basic children rights. After which, the municipalities’ official children’s Facebook page was announced ‘Ville amie des enfants’.
Then, all 3 Presidents of the different municipalities gave their speeches which were initiated by the President of Jdaydidt El Bouchrieh’s municipality president Mr. Antoine Jabbara’s speech, who welcomed the Italian ambassador Mr.Samuel Cavano, the Minister of social affairs’ representative Ms.Salam Shreim, and the presidents of the Chiyah and Ajaltoun municipalities, Mr.Edmond Gharios and Mr.Clovis El Khazen, respectively. He also talked about how far the program ‘Children friendly village’ had gone, and how the municipality has invested all its capacities and its commitments to achieve this pioneering project.
The event was then concluded by a word from the Minister Mr.Wael Abou Faour, represented by Ms.Shreim, in which she emphasized that the children we are here celebrating because of and with, are the ones to be greeted the most, and she also thanked all three municipalities for their efforts exerted in order to complete a large part of this project, which is the municipal councils for children, and then everyone met over a toast.




Bouchrieh Youth Club and Anwar Jdeideh Club Gala dinner in Municipal Building.

The Jdeideh – Bouchrieh – Sed Municipal Council honored the Bouchrieh Youth Club – the national champion of volleyball, and the Anwar Jdeideh Club, by holding a Gala dinner in their honor at the municipal building, during which the president of Municipality and the members of the municipal council hosted the administrative committees of the two clubs, as well as mayors from the region. The president of Municipality, Mr. Antoine Gebara, held a short welcoming speech, in which he expressed the area’s pride in the two champion clubs, stressing that the Municipality is there for everyone and is always at the forefront of supporting everything that is successful and beneficial to the Jdeideh – Bouchrieh – Sed area.



Christmas Party

On the occasion of the festive holidays, the municipality of Jdeideh Bouchrieh Sed held a Christmas party on the stage of the municipal castle. The mayor inaugurated the party by a speech welcoming the attendees and wishing everyone a glorious Christmas, then, he and several other members of the municipal board delivered 3 prizes to the winners of the patriotic photography competition: ‘Mr.Kamal Abdel Massih’ (1,500,000 L.L.), Ms. Ghenwa Tohme (1,000,000 L.L.) and Mr. Georges Kozah (500,000 L.L.), then the parents and their children got to enjoy an entertaining show by Kazadoo. The celebration was concluded with the delivery of gifts to more than 700 kids. More

1. Anyone can send more than one photo

2. The competition door shall be closed on the 12th of November 2012 at 12:00 midnight

3. A committee appointed by the Municipality shall choose the best 20 photos

4. These 20 photos shall be posted on the Facebook official page and voting shall take place through the LIKE feature‏

5. Voting shall stop on the 20th of November 2012 at 12:00 midnight

6. The photos that collect the highest number of LIKEs shall win. 1st prize 1.500.000 L.L., 2nd prize 1.000.000 L.L., 3rd prize 500.000 L.L presented by the Municipality

Fourth Conference for the Decentralized Cooperation of the General
Council of Yvelines Department "Yvelines, Partner in Development":
Guest of Honor for 2012: Lebanon
The Technical Bureau of Lebanese Municipalities and the Bureau of the United Cities and Local Governments organization organized on the 13th of October 2012 the Fourth Conference for the Decentralized Cooperation of the General Council of Yvelines Department "Yvelines, Partner in Development", in the commune of Rambouillet in France.
The topics discussed during the Conference are rural tourism, water world forum, exchange, and training sessions to improve communication among elected persons, administrative persons, and citizens.
The award of "Yvelines Charter for International Solidarity Quality" was presented to the Head of the Federation of Municipalities of Kesserouan-Ftouh Mr. Nouhad Nawfal.

 



Training Workshop About the "Children Friendly City" Project:
The "Children Friendly City" Project was brought up by the Ministry of Social Affairs more than one year ago and it was put underway in collaboration with the Italian Embassy and in partnership with three pioneer municiplaities: Jdeideh - Bouchrieh - Sed, Shayyah and Ajaltoun.
The Project is funded by the Italian Cooperation Office for Development for the purpose of creating a local environment that meets the needs of children and protects their rights.
The Project aims at promoting the children participation in the local administration field through the Children Municipal Council which would be a space for children and youth between 12 and 18 years old to express themselves.
Also, one of the important goals revolves around involving public and private institutions in the local social work for the best of the children, through cultural, educational, environmetnal, sporting, and artisitc projects.
Within this context, the Mayor of Jdeideh - Bouchrieh - Sed Mr. Antoine Gebara, assigned the two municipal members Marcel Hatem and Jean Bakhos to follow up on the Project implementation mechanism and the collaboration among the Municipality, the Ministry of Social Affairs, and the Italian Embassy.
For the purpose of introducing the Project and putting it underway, a training workshop was held on the 8th of October 2012 in the Cultural Center of Sin El Fil between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm. The audience included the staff in charge of the Project in the Ministry of Social Affairs, representatives from the Italian Cooperation Office (Italian Embassy), and representatives from the Project's municipalities (Jdeideh - Bouchrieh - Sed, Shayyah and Ajaltoun).
Mrs. Salam Shreim, who is responsible for the Project in the Ministry of Social Affairs, and the representatives of the Italian Embassy gave an explanation during this event about the implementation mechanism and the Project's goals along with the stages achieved so far.
The parties concerned of this event are the children friendly cities, the municipalities, and the social organizations working in the regions.



The Gathering of the Lebanese Physically Handicapped Union in the Municipality of Jdeideh - Bouchrieh - Sed

The Lebanese Physically Handicapped Union holds on Friday the 28th of September at 10:30 am a gathering with people with special needs, in the Municipality of Jdeideh - Bouchrieh - Sed.

The gathering will revolve around the means of involving people with special needs in the social life by providing them with job opportunities.
